Eberlestock Sales and Service

The G2 is the latest evolution of the original Gunslinger pack, and both are in wide use by elite military, police, and civilians all over the world -- snipers, marksmen, and regular folks who appreciate the overwhelming utility and versatility of this product.

It's a mid-sized pack with a full-width scabbard to better accommodate weapons with larger cross-sections or bulky optics. The wide scabbard also allows it to serve as an excellent laptop or military radio compartment, and because it's also wide at the bottom, users have the option of carrying weapons butt-down or butt-up. Like the G4 Operator pack, it features both front loading and top loading features, giving exceptional versatility and flexibility of use.

The G2 comes standard with our Intex-II frame system. The Intex-II is an Eberlestock innovation; it out-performs both traditional external frames and internal frames, and has the best qualities of both: the structure of an external frame without the noise and with minimal weight, and the close-ride and comfort of an internal frame pack.

The Intex-II adds a new level of support and stability to the Gunslinger II, making it a compact and tough heavy-load capable pack. To customize the character of your pack, the Intex II can be interchanged with either the AG2S Gossamer frame, or the AGIF Endo frame (sold separately), or can simply be removed, which effectively reverts the pack back to the traditional G2 platform.

The G2 is a great platform to make the ultimate "go bag." It is relatively compact, yet capable of internally storing a sniper rifle or an M-16/M-4/AR type weapon, water, ammo, and survival gear. Once in the field, the pack has good capacity, but has the added benefit of being really easy to lash additional gear to, simply by cranking on an external load with its built-in compression straps.

The top pocket assembly features a handy internal organizer, with several small pockets, pen holders, and a padded pocket which serves equally well for AR mags or for a PDA.

Backpack was exactly as expected, great built quality with flawless workmanship. I have not used it much so far but by the look of the durability of the pack it will last a lifetime. Would recommend to any serious hunter/backpacker.

Fantastic Pack!!! Its an external frame pack, supper durable. I love eberlestock quality, I own 2 of their packs. This one is more of day pack, but with the right gear you could pack it for overnight as well. Huge scabbard, and having the scabbard lid is extremely helpful. The design of the pack is great, buckles are in all the right places, very efficient well though out!

This pack is perfect for my needs. The top organization pocket is extremely helpful, the openness of the main compartment minimizes weight(compared to the sectioned off g4 operator). The hydration pockets inside the main compartment are also much more useful than the design on the operator bag. The scabbard on this is a full size scabbard that is able to fit my dpms sass with optic, bipod, monopod and magazine in the well.(compared to the gunrunner bag which wouldn't fit my long gun)

Another review mentioned they did not recieve the new version of the bag that includes a metal (removable) external frame... This wasn't the case for me. I did recieve the newer version

Extremely well made. Perfect for hunting. I use it for fishing trips like on lake Powell. I was in & out of the pack 20 times a day. It just kept getting better. The frame is key ! It is built for the manly man for thrashing it like crazy. I used some 550 cord on all the grab handles so it fit my hands. You can literally throw this pack around in gravel its so well made. I used it for 8 days and didn't use all my clothes. I wore shorts mostly. I fit a extreme emergency pouch titanium kitchen pouch set, bath pouch, jacket, clothes, knives, all essentials for bug out bag, hats, water shoes, flip flops, sun stuff, lights, totally rigged, military 4 season sleeping bag, condor water pouch for day hikes. This is perfect for a get home Back pack too. I have 12 other packs but I'm done now. Get rain cover as an add

First of course Survivalist 101 has the best price for this bag I did a lot of searching...I purchased this bag after getting a Gunslinger I and realizing I needed more room. At first glance I am already in love with this bag and I cannot wait to take it elk hunting...I would purchase again and I did also get a few accessories to go with the bag like the gun rest and I am really looking forward to hiking this year! It fits my 60 cm length rifle w scope since the top scabbard part is length adjustable which I was worried about when purchasing. I told my husband I want to carry this bag everywhere because I am in love right now and he told me to stop breathing so hard:) I know when we actually get out there he is going to try to talk me into why he should get to use my bag and I need to use the smaller Gunslinger which is still very awesome and worth every penny also so I can't even complain! The military uses these bags so they are more than good enough for me, I got the green camo designed bag which is very nice and is done in old school camo...

This is a great pack. Expensive, but well worth the money, compared to other packs. I do wish it was totally waterproof, but a rain cover fixes that.
Extremely comfortable. Extremely well made. Intelligently designed. I love it.

Fantastic pack, very durable, great airflow down the back, the weight suspension is amazing, really doesn't feel like you're carrying as much as the pack allows. Built in weapon sheath folds up and out of the way nicely, too. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I have the G4 Operator which is great but it is so big I end up putting too much in it and it gets heavy. This one is just right forcing you to be more realistic with what you carry. It also has a great organizer pocket.

Awesome pack. Molle everywhere so it can be tailored to your load and gear. Just be careful it is still big enough to make you feel like you need to pack more. If you plan to carry your rifle remember that additional weight. I cant think of a single complaint about this pack. Eberlestock is expensive but you get what you pay for. Buy once cry once.

Wow...excellent pack and can it hold a lot. If you fill this, it is easy to get to 80 to 100 lb load. Very comfortable when wearing. Extra pockets and straps and very handy.

This is a really great bag. It is light for how big and durable it is. The straps are very comfortable. The lumbar support is a little aggressive, but I imagine many will carry much more than I do (or at least heavier things). It is a little clumsy at first to get the rifile in the scabbard with the shape of the back of the backpack (there is some contour to it, which feels very nice, but makes it narrow just after the opening of the scabbard, feels odd pushing the rifle in, but no actual problem). It works fine even with optics (fits a Stag Arms Super Varminter with 24 inch bull barrel without difficulty, and while AR based, this is a heavy rifle and big with optics. I only mention it because it is my longest and heaviest). Just took the bag on a pig hunt, and it worked great. I have to admit, it is also pretty sharp looking, which doesn't hurt. The dry earth color is a little darker than in the pictures.
The shoulder straps, padding, lumbar support, and lumbar straps are great. The pack is also fairly easy to adjust for comfort (one can move the shoulder straps at their insertion site), and feels very comfortable on your back. The load feels much lighter on your back than when you are pulling up the back and getting it on (it feels deceptively light when fully loaded, which is great!).
There are so many straps it can be a little confusing to set up, but once it is set up, it works very well, and they all tie down well so there is a low likelihood of snagging on things. Overall, I like it a lot, in some ways I wish it was a little smaller, but then it would lose some utility (others have had the opposite concern and would like it bigger, likely depends on how much you like/need to take with you). I think it makes a perfect balance with size and utility for a 3 day pack (might be just a little smaller than some of the SOC 3 day packs, which I think is actually nice, and I like the layout and shape much more than say the "bug out bag" from SOC [although the bug out bag from SOC is also a nice bag, especially for the price, albiet a fairly heavy bag]--also tried the High Speed Low Drag bag from Eberlestock, but the shape of the compartment was not as usable as the Gunslinger II so I returned it, otherwise would have been a nice, smaller and less expensive alternative). The flexibility built in and the added flexibility with the webbing is outstanding. I also like how the scabbard can fold and is concealed so that one can use it as a regular pack as well.

Just some mild criticisms and the reason for the 4 star rating: One oddity is that the top cover/compartment (for magazines, or pens/toiletries) attaches to the bottom via long straps which works like a vertical compression strap. This would be nice, but it does compress/put pressure some of the components in the top portion of the pack including the soft sunglasses compartment, and makes the webbing at the underside of the pack difficult to use. I had a sleep system attached to the underside, and while this worked, it was a little cumbersome and felt less secure since the webbing on the underside of the pack is dependent on the two straps and buckles that work as compression for the the pack to stay in place.
Also the butt cover feels a little flimsy (at least in comparison) and not as padded as the rest of the scabbard. The clean out zipper at the bottom of the scabbard is very nice.

These criticisms are minor however, and may be trade off's for improving function in other areas. I hate for those to stand out (negative comments always tend to have more impact than positive), because it really is an amazing bag. It was great for my recent trip and I can't wait to get more use out of it.

The pack is well made with high quality materials and workmanship. The only disappointment would be that the gun sock doesn't completely seal the gun from rain when sitting in the pack. The picture is deceptive because it looks like a perfect seal from the weather but the straps do not cinch down completely over the opening. Other than that, it is a great bag.

I purchased this bag on the recommendation of a friend as well as some internet reviews, and I am very happy with the construction and overall finish. It is well designed and the materials are second to none.

I purchased this for hunting as well as my INCH bag, the quality is unmatchable with any other backpack - it has so much molle on it that I could add anything I want to it. The padding for comfort is awesome and probably the thickest I have ever seen on a backpack of this type. This is a one and last purchase backpack - never need another one again
